What will the condition of my item be when it arrives?
Not all of our items are perfect. Every garment or accessory we sell has lived a previous life. Some pieces went along on exciting adventures and show evidence of these experiences, giving them character and making them perfectly imperfect!
Other items appear to have only been worn/used a time or two, or perhaps only for a special occasion. These pieces have a nearly pristine or gently worn appearance. In rare instances, there may be small holes and/or stains on an item.
We do our best to thoroughly inspect, photograph, describe, and show you each item accurately. If you have specific questions regarding this topic please email us at wecare@mendedearth.com.
Are items laundered and cleaned before delivery?
We pride ourselves on hand-picking the best quality items available and source our garments from retailers and wholesalers whose cleaning standards and procedures we know and trust.
We do launder and clean items when necessary. In addition, we spray all clothing with a mixture of soft water and eco-friendly fabric softener. This process helps to deodorize garments and remove wrinkles.
What is the processing time for an order?
All orders are processed within 2-3 business days.
How long will my order take to arrive?
Orders will be sent via USPS and should arrive within 3-5 days of shipping.
What is considered vintage?
Vintage is defined as something produced in the past, and typical of the period in which it was made.
Depending on what retailer or seller you ask, the age range of what is considered vintage will vary. From our perspective an item is considered vintage if it is at least 15 years old, and/or is rare and difficult to obtain due to a limited number of existing pieces.
Where does the company source their clothes from?
Mended Earth is always on the lookout for pieces to rescue and we pride ourselves on hand-picking all items. These pieces typically come from secondhand wholesalers, estate sales, and thrift shops.
How is my purchase helping the earth?
People who are environmentally conscious want to participate in reducing waste and pollution caused by their everyday activities. When you purchase a rescued item you are extending its use, keeping it out of the landfill, and reducing the demand for new manufactured clothing.
As people’s consciousness grows and thrift shopping becomes an environmental practice rather than a trend, it will serve to further influence the fashion industry to shift to sustainable manufacturing practices.
What is the return/exchange policy?
We are happy to accept returns for store credit on all items with the exception of T-Shirts. All T-Shirt sales are final.
Simply contact us at wecare@mendedearth.com within three days of receiving your order. The buyer will be responsible for the cost of return shipping. To qualify for store credit, items must be returned in the same condition in which they were received.
